MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Police are searching for suspects in the fatal shooting of a man near a landmark cafe on a tourist-heavy section of South Beach.

Miami Beach police said in a news release the man was shot at the 24-hour News Cafe at about 7 a.m. Sunday. Authorities were looking for as many as three suspects who fled in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee with dark tinted windows.

Police said the victim was from New York, but did not give the man’s hometown or identify him further.

Police closed the area on Ocean Drive where the cafe is located for several hours. Yellow crime scene tape was draped around some of the cafe’s outdoor tables. At least 10 shots were fired.

The cafe remained open for business, however.
