MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. — A 20-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle as he crossed a highway in southeastern Wisconsin.
The crash happened early Sunday morning on Highway 32 in Mount Pleasant.
Racine County Medical Examiner Michael Payne tells The Journal Times (http://bit.ly/2dBQ2n7 ) his office was called to the scene about 4 a.m.
Mount Pleasant police say the area where the crash happened is dark, with no streetlights. Authorities say the 27-year-old Racine woman who was driving the vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative.
The name of the victim was not immediately released.
The crash closed the highway for several hours. Mount Pleasant Police and the Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating.
