ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Police are looking for whoever fired at least three shots at a car in eastern Pennsylvania, killing the 17-year-old driver and wounding the 18-year-old woman who was his passenger.

The Lehigh County coroner says the dead victim is 17-year-old Johnny Lopez.

Allentown police say Lopez was driving when his car was hit with gunfire shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday. The female victim’s name hasn’t been released, but police say she was shot in the leg and her injuries aren’t life-threatening.

Witnesses tell police the car was hit with gunfire before it backed up into a stop sign and a trash container. The vehicle then drove forward about a half block before it hit a parked car and stopped. That’s where police found the gunshot victims.
