NEWARK, N.J. — Newark’s fire chief is retiring after more than 30 years serving New Jersey’s largest city.

A send-off ceremony will take place Monday for Chief John Centanni.

A convoy of police and fire vehicles will escort Centanni to his office, where he’ll sign the fire log for the last time. He’ll also visit Engine 6 Firehouse.
