CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead has named his longtime deputy chief of staff to serve as the state’s new chief information officer and director of the Department of Enterprise Technology Services.
Tony Young has been the Mead’s deputy chief of staff since 2011. He replaces Flint Waters, who left the job this week to take a position with Google.
Young previously worked in the Wyoming U.S. Attorney’s Office as head of Wyoming’s Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee. Before that, he was a special agent with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.
According to Mead’s office, Young was the state’s first certified forensic computer investigator and has experience in the investigation and prosecution of computer crime.
