A North Vernon man was jailed in Brown County after crashing his truck.

Aaron Reeves, 48, was charged Aug. 24 with two misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht encountered him just before 3 a.m. Aug. 7 on State Road 46. Eggebrecht’s report said Reeves had crashed his 1994 Ford Ranger, and he admitted to being the driver.

The report said Reeves’ speech was slow and slurred, his eyes were blood shot, balance was unsteady and his pants zipper was undone. Reeves smelled of alcohol and Eggebrecht saw containers in the vehicle, the report said.

A breath test registered 0.256, more than three times the legal limit for a driver, the report said.

He was booked into jail at 4 a.m. Aug. 7 and released on bond later than night.
