AslanLariobitphotoLari Aslan, 73, of Nashville, died Monday morning, Sept. 19, 2016, at Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin.

Born July 23, 1943 in Montabello, California, she was the daughter of Claude and Helen (McDonald) McGarvin. An interior decorator for Ethan Allen in Dallas, Texas, her life revolved around interior decorating and reading. She loved having turtles and frogs, both living and figurines. She attended Country Gospel Music Church in Nashville.

She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa (Don) Waltman of Nashville and Wendy (Dennis) Kurttlia of Franklin, Tennessee; two sons, Chris (Michelle) Schneider of Hurst, Texas, and Mitch (Mary) Schneider of Lewisville, Texas; two sisters, Diana McGarvin of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Vicki Hill of Powell, Wyoming; eight grandchildren, Lacey Corbitt, Ondrea Kurttlia, Lyndsi Brown, Chelsey Davern, Braeten Waltman, Dylan Waltman, Brandon Schneider and J.J. Schneider; and four great-grandchildren, Logan Waltman, Ariana Mullins, Chloe Mullins and Noble Corbitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life service will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at the home of Teresa and Don Waltman, 742 Salt Creek Road in Nashville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to Team Reminisce for the Oct. 2 Walk to End Alzheimers in Columbus at act.alz.org or purchase of a Forget-Me-Not at the celebration of life service.

Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
