FRUITDALE — A Hornettown Road man has been charged with battery, a Class A misdemeanor, after an altercation with a woman Sept. 2.

The woman told Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht that Anthony L. Callon, 36, struck her in the chest. A witness reported seeing the same thing.
