Mr. pugh obit photoRonald J. “Ron” Pugh Sr., 66, passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 15, 2016 at his home in Brown County.

He was born in Grundy, Virginia, on April 28, 1950, to the late Carl and Imogene (Christian) Pugh. Ron was a 1968 graduate of Feds Creek High School in Kentucky. He went on to serve as a specialist with Company D 41st Infantry of the United States Army. He retired in 2006 as a planning engineer for Lehr Corp in Edinburgh after 30 years of service.

Ron enjoyed sitting on the porch, drinking coffee and playing with his dog, Spud. He enjoyed the outdoors by mowing his yard and working in his vegetable garden. Ron was a fan of college football and the Indianapolis Colts.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita K. (Swearingen) Pugh of Brown County, whom he married on June 25, 1977 in Ohio. Ron is also survived by his children, Harold Pugh of Napoleon, Ohio, Joe (Crystal) Pugh and Tabitha Davis, both of Brown County; siblings, Sharon (Bob) Tucker of Michigan, Jeanie (John) Detmer of Ohio, Bobby Jean Stiltner of Tennessee, Margaret Pugh and Carl Pugh, both of Kentucky; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Bonnie Ball and Bernice Brown; and a grandson, Connor Pugh.

A funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Weeping Willow Cemetery in Brown County with military honors presented by the Brown County Honor Guard.
