A drunken driver who seriously injured two motorcycle riders last September has pleaded guilty and will serve time in the Brown County jail.

On Aug. 15, Brent Anderson, 60, Indianapolis, was sentenced to two years in jail after pleading guilty to two felonies, according to online court records. His driver’s license was suspended for two years.

On Sept. 27, Terry and Tina Gray were riding a motorcycle on East State Road 46 at the intersection with Salt Creek when Anderson, driving a pickup truck, failed to stop at the stop sign, coming out of the golf course.

The motorcycle struck the pickup truck’s side passenger door, and Terry Gray landed in the bed of the pickup. He was in the hospital for more than a week.

Anderson was ordered to pay $450,113.50 in restitution to the Grays.

Anderson’s blood-alcohol level was 0.39, almost five times the legal limit.

After the crash, Anderson continued to drive through the grass at the Circle K gas station, striking an SUV at a gas pump head-on and continuing toward the creek before coming to rest on Walls Road.

Police said the truck Anderson was driving belonged to a family member, and he did not have permission to drive it.
