Letter: Shrine Club thankful for support of concert

0

To the editor:

On Friday, Aug. 13 the Brown County Shrine Club hosted a wonderful evening at the local Brown County Playhouse. The show was called “Ol’ Blue Eyes: An Evening of Cool” featuring local crooner Russell Moss.

The auditorium was filled to near capacity as Mr. Moss sang many of the old Frank Sinatra favorites. He was engaging with the audience with his sense of humor as well.

Backing him up was the incredible Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra that is considered Indiana’s symphony of Big Band music.

Many of the local Shrine Club members attended the event assisting with the ticket booth and helping concert-goers with their seating selections.

Through this popular event the Brown County Shrine Club was able to raise $1,586.75, which will be split equally between the Shrine hospitals in Cincinnati and Lexington.

The Brown County Shrine Club Playhouse programs are but one of several successful charity events put on by the club throughout the year.
