BLOOMINGTON — Michaela Ann Owens of Nashville was named to the executive dean’s list at the Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences for the spring 2016 semester.
She earned a 3.85 grade-point average. She is majoring in communications and culture with emphasis on film studies.
This summer, Owens studied European cinema in Paris, France, and Prague, Czech Republic, for eight weeks.
She is the daughter of JP Owens and Kim Woods-Owens of Nashville.
Zelton Kay, a sophomore at Brown County High School, attended Indiana University’s High School Journalism Institute this summer to study documentary filmmaking.
The documentary he made with fellow filmmaker Sam Arvin, a senior at Harrison High School in West Lafayette, won first place in the weeklong study program.
Zelton is the son of Jon and Mandy Kay of Brown County.
