AmandaSwiftAmanda “Louise” (Percifield) Swift, 91, of Nashville, died Friday morning, Aug. 5, 2016, at Brown County Health & Living Community.

Born April 19, 1925, in Brown County, she was the daughter of Grover Percifield, Sr. and Lena (Parks) Percifield. Louise loved cooking, gardening, staying up-to-date on current events and discussing politics. She was a die-hard Roosevelt-era Democrat. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Louise was a former cook for the Brown County Schools and a member of Nashville Christian Church.

She is survived by her children, Steve (Becky) Swift of Columbus, Pam Swift of Nashville and John (Kristen) Swift of Carmel; five grandchildren, Heather (Brett) Williams, Abby Swift, Ben Swift, Kate Swift and Jack Swift; three great-grandchildren, Luke Williams, Taylor Williams and Rohan Crockett; her caregiver, Peggy Hardin of Nashville; and her cat, Oscar.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Swift; 12 half-brothers and -sisters, James McGuire, Richard McGuire, Carl McGuire, Alva McGuire, Burl McGuire, Jennie McGuire Day, Leonard Percifield, Marie Percifield Rose, Bill Percifield, Irene Percifield Snider, Alice Percifield Shipley and Cloyd Percifield; and one brother, Grover Percifield, Jr.

The funeral service was Aug. 8 at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville with the Rev. Tim Bond officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends visited the family Aug. 7 at the funeral home.
