An Edinburgh man was arrested June 30 after he was involved in an accident in a car that did not belong to him.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Bowling reported that he spoke with a woman who said Lawrence Turnbloom, 21, did not have permission to drive her vehicle. She told the officer she woke up June 30 and both her car and Turnbloom were missing.

Police told her that Turnbloom and her vehicle had been involved an accident.

When Bowling arrived at the scene, Turnbloom told him he did have permission to drive the car and that he was not the driver, but Bowling reported he was the only one at the scene, the report said.

While Bowling was searching a duffel bag Turnbloom brought with him to the jail he reported discovering two glass pipes.

On July 1, Turnbloom was charged with conversion, a Class A misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
