Letter: Habitat for Humanity thankful for grant generosity

To the editor:

On behalf of Brown County Habitat for Humanity, we want to thank the Brown County Community Foundation for the 2016 grant we received.

The community foundation has consistently supported Habitat with funding to assist us in building and rehabilitating homes for those in need in Brown County. This year’s grant will be used to purchase much-needed tools to continue our work in the county as well as to ensure that our construction trailer is in safe condition with the purchase of new tires for it.

As many of you know, last year, Habitat for Humanity constructed the Helping Hands Building at the fairgrounds to house Mother’s Cupboard Community Kitchen as well as an office and storage space for Habitat. Without the financial backing and support of the foundation, we would not have been able to build this facility.

We are blessed to have such a vital and giving community foundation in Brown County to not only support our work but the work of so many other nonprofit organizations.

Thank you Brown County Community Foundation, its excellent staff and caring, dedicated trustees!

Sincerely,

Marilyn Fagg, co-president, and Emily Stone, co-president, Brown County Habitat for Humanity (submitted by Bill Walters)
