RV catches fire on State Road 46 near Nashville

A recreational vehicle traveling east on State Road 46 near Green Valley Road was destroyed in a fire at about 4 p.m. June 28, Indiana State Police said.

The driver of the vehicle, Mark Laffoon from Davenport, Florida, stated the vehicle had lost power while driving, but he was able to pull into an empty parking lot.

Once Laffoon exited the vehicle, he saw it was on fire near the engine area.

Brown County (Nashville) Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dallas “Dak” Kelp said firefighters were on the scene for about two hours.

The RV was a total loss.

Kelp said the cause of the fire is undetermined.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police and Nashville Police assisted at the scene.
