Brown County native, Maurice A. Barnes, 87, died Wednesday morning, July 6, 2016 at Franklin United Methodist Community.

He is survived by his children, Carol Barnes of Eminence and Mark Barnes of Brown County; sister, Joan Honeay of Greenwood; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Maurice was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine (Walker) Barnes.

Rev. John Parsley will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, July 8 at Unity Baptist Church, 7361 Spearsville Road in Brown County. Friends can call from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery in Brown County. Funeral arrangements are through Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
