SPEARSVILLE — An Indianapolis man was arrested May 28 after he allegedly punched a man in the chest.

Brown County sheriff’s deputies Andrew Eggebrecht and Tyler Drake responded to a report of battery at Camp Buckwood on Spearsville Road just after 11 p.m. The officers found Eric Allen, 26, being detained by several people, a press release from the sheriff’s department said.

The victim reported Allen had punched him in the chest. The victim denied treatment by EMS, but EMS personnel checked out Allen since he received injuries after being detained by the bystanders.

Eggebrecht arrested Allen on preliminary charges of battery resulting in bodily injury, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct after Allen refused to stop yelling and screaming at people when Eggebrecht gave him multiple warnings, the affidavit said.

He was formally charged June 3 with battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.
