Cemetery preservation

The new cemetery group that formed this spring has decided upon a name: The Brown County Cemetery Preservation Society.

The group will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23 at the Sprunica Church and Cemetery, at the intersection of Smith Road and Sprunica Road in Hamblen Township. From Bean Blossom, take Gatesville Road to Fox’s Corner, turn left and go to Sprunica Road and turn right. Take this to the intersection of Smith Road. The church will be on the left.

Over a brown bag lunch, the group will discuss the ongoing cemetery survey and look over Sprunica’s grounds. The group has decided to start with the cleaning of Sprunica Cemetery since it is historic and some work was done on it last year.

All are welcome. With questions, email bccempreservsoc@gmail.com.
