Morgantown bridge to reopen

Indiana Department of Transportation spokesman Harry Maginity confirmed that INDOT crews expect to reopen the Morgantown bridge on State Road 135 North around 7 a.m. Friday, June 10.

Crews expect to have the chip and seal of State Road 135 North completed to the bridge at that time, he said.

The bridge has been closed since late April, after an inspector noticed damage to the support structure that was more dangerous than originally thought. It was hit by a large vehicle in the fall and closed briefly, then reopened. Since then, detours have taken drivers onto county roads.

Details about the recent repairs were not immediately available.
