To the editor:

Van Buren Volunteer Fire Department would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that donated at our boot drive and came in for our $5 lunch on May 28.

We appreciate all of the supportive comments that were spoken to us, and we will continue to support our township.

We were asked how the fire department could be supported in more ways. Our training has changed to Mondays at 6 p.m., our public board meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month, and $5 lunches are going to be served every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Come and join us and learn about the things we do, how your donations are being spent, and meet your firefighters.

The first fish fry will be Saturday, June 11, so mark your calendars for a great dinner.

Again, thank you again for your continued support of your fire department.
