Gary Kevin Deal, 64, passed away all too soon Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at IU Health Hospice in Bloomington. He was a resident of Nashville and former resident of Wanamaker.
Gary was born Nov. 7, 1951, in Indianapolis to the late Roland and Ellen (Zimmerman) Deal. He worked as a semi driver for Overnight Transportation for 25 years and worked for Walmart until retiring in 2012. He married Deborah Young in 1977 in Indianapolis. She preceded him in death March 31, 2016, after 39 devoted years of marriage.
Gary enjoyed retirement by hunting, playing guitar and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by his children, Megan (Robert) Lucas, Gari Hobbs and Daniel (Trina) Deal; stepchildren, Daniele Coe and Douglas (Linda) Coe; siblings, Eliena Deal and Roland (Charlie) Deal; and grandchildren, Garrett, Dylan, Samantha, Haylee, Brennan, Delaney, Connor, Kevin, Kaylee, Sullivan and Clayton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah; parents, Roland and Ellen; and brother, Lawrence “Larry” Deal.
The Rev. Brandy Pedigo will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
