BURLINGTON, N.C. — A taxi cab driver has been killed after the cab crashed into a house in Burlington.

Assisting Police Chief Chris Verdeck told local media outlets that a driver with the Golden Eagle Cab Company crashed into a home around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The cab driver’s name has not yet been released while relatives are notified.

Verdeck says it’s not clear if the driver died before the wreck or from injuries in the crash.

No one in the house was hurt, but Verdeck says the home suffered significant damage.
