FARGO, N.D. — A Minnesota man accused of dealing large quantities of heroin in at least three states has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Tyrone Parker, of Sauk Centre, Minnesota, pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

Authorities say the ring involved more than 1,000 grams of heroin that was distributed in North Dakota, Minnesota and Illinois.

The government asked for a sentence of more than 13 years in prison. Parker’s attorney argued for less than 10½ years.
