CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Chattanooga police say a restaurant employee has been shot to death during a scuffle outside the building.

Chattanooga police tell media outlets that officers who were called to break up a fight at the Bella Vita Restaurant in Chattanooga around 2 a.m. Sunday found 40-year-old Johnny Sanders with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police said in a statement that 31-year-old Andrew Wilson was charged with criminal homicide and unlawful possession of a firearm. Wilson had been removed from the restaurant by security, and the shooting took place outside the business.

It wasn’t immediately known whether Wilson has an attorney.

A call to the restaurant went unanswered Sunday.
