Former Brown County Schools Assistant Superintendent Laura Hammack will replace Superintendent David Shaffer when he retires next month.

Hammack’s hiring was announced in a contract released publicly May 4.

She is coming from Beech Grove Schools, where she has been assistant superintendent since July 2009.

She was assistant superintendent for Brown County from July 2007 to July 2009, and prior to that, was principal of Helmsburg Elementary and taught at Nashville Elementary.
