Letter: After-Thanksgiving art and craft show to be revived

0

To the editor:

After a year’s hiatus, and many disappointed visitors attempting to attend the show, a new version of The Seasons’ art and craft show will be held this year on the Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26, following Thanksgiving as always.

Being in charge of the show for more than 20 years as a fundraiser for the Brown County Craft Guild, Paul and Cathy Hendrickson decided after the show in 2014 to not return as hosts for future shows. To the disappointment of many artists and visitors, there was no show in 2015.

The new hosts of the show will be Pat and Tom Carothers. Pat, a basket maker and basket teacher for more than 25 years, has exhibited at The Seasons show for nearly 20 years. She has taught basket weaving throughout the United States and has her work in private collections around the world.

The Carothers, not affiliated with the Brown County Craft Guild, plan to make a few changes to the show, offer artists and crafters prize money, and put all show proceeds back into a show account to make each year’s show even better than before. There will be no charge for anyone visiting the show.

If you would like an application to exhibit at the juried 2016 Seasons Holiday Art and Craft Show, please send an email to [email protected] with your name and mailing address. The deadline for applications is July 1.
