VAN BUREN TWP. — A Spencer man was injured in a crash on State Road 135 South April 17.

Shane A. Deford, 41, was driving a motorcycle southbound on State Road 135 South near Susie Ayers Road when he approached a left curve and went too far to the right, causing his motorcycle to leave the road, an accident report from Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Williams said.

Deford laid his motorcycle down in the slide, but Williams reported it was upright when he arrived on scene.

Deford was not wearing a helmet. He was treated at the scene for abdomen or pelvis pain by emergency medical personnel.

His passenger, Tonya L. Deford, was wearing a helmet and sustained minor scrapes to her left arm, the report said.
