VAN BUREN TWP. — A Columbus man sustained a head injury after he lost control of his vehicle on State Road 135 South April 9.

Casey B. Morris, 19, was northbound on State Road 135 South near Susie Ayers Road when he went too fast around a curve, a police report said.

Morris lost control of his 2007 Pontiac, ran off the right side of the road and down an embankment, causing his vehicle to roll over, the report said.

Morris told police he was not familiar with the road and was driving too fast. He was able to get out of the vehicle on his own.

The vehicle was totaled and had to be towed. Morris was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital by ambulance for a head injury.

Morris was wearing a seat belt. Indiana State Trooper Chris Griggs said that reduced the nature of his injuries.
