A Helmsburg woman was charged with possession of paraphernalia and driving while suspended after a March traffic stop.

Nashville Police Officer Michael Williams was on patrol on State Road 46 East March 27 and approached a Ford Ranger. Dispatch notified him that the license plate had expired in November. Williams followed the vehicle to a nearby campground.

The driver was Justine May Beasley, 28; her passenger was Christopher Velez, 35.

The report said Beasley did not have a driver’s license, registration for the truck or proof of insurance. She told Williams that her license had been suspended.

Beasley was arrested for driving while suspended and the truck was impounded due to having a false registration sticker, the affidavit said.

Officer Matthew Hatchett inventoried the vehicle and reported finding a syringe and two spoons with residue and black burn marks on them.

Velez also was arrested after the paraphernalia was discovered, but as of press time, he had not been charged.
