Born in Milan, Indiana, July 13, 1948, to Joseph and Martha McClanahan, he attended a two-room schoolhouse in Friendship. Graduating from Jac-Cen-Del High School, he joined the Army at 18. Due to a back injury, he served a short stint in the Army. He worked for William F. Steck; Hession Plumbing in Indianapolis; Dunham Plumbing Company, Inc. for 10 years; Loren Moore Plumbing; and had his own business as well. His last place of employment was B & W Plumbing in Indianapolis, for approximately 15 years.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 40 years, Julie Warlow-McClanahan; three children from a previous marriage, Billy McClanahan, Raymond McClanahan Jr., and Rebecca McClanahan; sister, June Dunham (William Dunham Sr.); brother, John McClanahan; nephew, William Dunham Jr.; and nieces, Dawn Pritchett and Kathy Jo Holloman.

Raymond was a very happy, carefree person who absolutely loved life. He took in the homeless and would give the shirt off his back to help out the less fortunate. He had a passion for dogs and always took in strays and gave them a home.

As requested by Raymond, there will be no showing or funeral service.

Rest in peace. You will be sadly missed, but never forgotten!
