magee obit picRalph Michael “Mike” Magee, 62, of Nineveh, passed away all too soon Tuesday evening, March 29, 2016 at his home.

Michael was born Jan. 3, 1954, in Tylertown, Mississippi to Ralph Winfred and Patricia Jean (Dailey) Magee. He was a 1972 graduate of Tylertown High School and went on to earn a degree in heating venting and air conditioning technology (HVAC) in 1974 from Southwest Community College in Mississippi. On April 9, 1977, Michael married the love of his life, Janice G. Nolen in Tylertown, Mississippi. She survives after 38 devoted years of marriage.

Michael took over the family business in 1979 and was the owner/operator of Magee’s Service Center in Tylertown for 8 years. In 1987, he began working as a concrete driver for Shelby Materials, retiring in 2015 after 28 years of service. When Mike wasn’t driving, he enjoyed tending to his livestock and farming his own land.

Michael was a member and a song leader at Neighborhood Church of God in Nineveh. Mike will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to always help those in need. He was famous for cooking chili for church pitch-ins and creating delicious pizza for his family. He enjoyed attending auctions, farming and was an excellent mechanic. Most of all, Mike loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Michael will be dearly missed by his wife, Janice; mother, Patricia Magee of Nineveh; daughters, Pamela (Steven) Dean of Greenwood and Tinaka (fiancé, Michael Evans) Noell of Duluth, Georgia; grandchildren, Jasmine (Kyle) Ellegood, Dylan Price, Nathan and Madison Noell, Hunter and Kody Dean; a great-grandson, Brycen Ellegood; sister, Karen Stocki of Long Beach, Mississippi; aunts, Mrs. Clara Day of Nashville, Nan Conerly of Poplarville, Mississippi; uncle, Vernon Magee of Milton, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Winfred Magee; and sister-in-law, Joanna McDaniel.

The Pastor Jim Albertson will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown.

Friends can call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery, Morgantown.
