HAMBLEN TWP. — An accident at around 11:30 p.m. March 20 on Nineveh Road sent a Princes Lakes woman to jail.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Jimmy Green reported that he could smell alcohol on the driver, Karen J. Nolan, 53, and that her balance was off, according to a probable cause affidavit by Deputy Scott Bowling.

Nolan failed three field sobriety tests. A breath test showed her blood-alcohol content at 0.18, more than twice the legal limit the report said.

Nolan was transported to the Brown County jail where she failed field sobriety tests. A chemical test at the jail revealed her blood-alcohol content to be 0.12, according to a press release from the sheriff’s department.

Nolan was charged March 22 with three misdemeanor alcohol charges.
