Charles W. McCarter died peacefully at home Monday, March 21, 2016, in Zionsville, at the age of 90.

Charles was born on March 7, 1926, in Macy, to Alvah and Doris McCarter.

Charles served in the navy in WWII and for 30 years with the Indiana State Police.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Ruth; his children, Barbara and Charles; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his children, Mark and Michiel.

A funeral is scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, March 25, at Flanner and Buchanan, 105 W. Pine St. in Zionsville.
