CORDRY SWEETWATER — An accident March 13 on Nineveh Road resulted in the arrest of a Cordry Lake man on alcohol charges.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Bowling reported that he could smell alcohol on the driver Thomas M. Eby, 68.

He also reported that Eby’s speech was slurred, his balance was “off,” and he pulled himself and staggered from the vehicle, the probable cause affidavit said.

Eby failed three field tests and a breath test revealed his blood-alcohol content to be 0.16, twice the legal limit.

Eby was charged March 14 with operating a vehicle while intoxicated — endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle with an ACE of 0.15 or more, a Class A misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor.
