COLUMBIA, Mo. — Lexie Vaught had 22 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists as Crane cruised past Neelyville 78-57 Saturday, claiming its fourth-straight Missouri’s Class 2 girls state championship.
Justine Mahan scored 18 points and dished out six assists, and Kylee Moore added 16 points for the Lady Pirates, who finish the season with an unprecedented 32-1 record.
Crane capitalized on the Lady Tigers’ inability to take care of the ball, scoring 35 points off 25 Neelyville turnovers.
After Vaught secured three offensive rebounds followed by a lay-up with 7:42 second remaining in the second quarter, the Lady Pirates held a double-digit lead for the duration of the game, leading by as many as 27.
Shelby Moon led all scorers with 27 points on 10-for-18 shooting for Neelyville, which finished the season 25-6.
