Columbus resident arrested for OWI

A Columbus man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he was pulled over for going left of center Feb. 21.

Nashville Police Officer Kyle Seward pulled over Zachri R. Hipsher, 30, on Hawthorne Drive.

He noted in a report that Hipsher’s speech was slurred, his eyes were red/watery, that his dexterity was poor and his balance was unsteady.

He was charged Feb. 22 with operating a vehicle while intoxicated — endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle with a Schedule I or Schedule II controlled substance or its metabolite in the body, a Class C misdemeanor.
