A Nashville teen was charged in January with marijuana and paraphernalia possession after a traffic stop in October.

Former Nashville Police Officer Brian Shrader reported in a probable cause affidavit that he pulled a vehicle over that Ethan J. Ball, 18, was driving after seeing it cross the center line three times on State Road 46 East.

Shrader noted that Ball’s behavior was “odd” and that he would not look him in the eyes until Shrader asked him if he had been drinking, the probable cause affidavit states. After smelling marijuana in the car, Shrader asked Ball when the last time he smoked and Ball told the officer he smoked 30 minutes ago, the report said.

Ball handed Shrader a glass jar with marijuana inside, a glass pipe with burnt marijuana on it and a grinder, the report said.

Ball was not booked into the Brown County jail after the incident.

On Jan. 15, he was charged with possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
