Linda Diane Voils Obit picLinda “Diane” (Dorris) Voils, 68, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, Feb. 25, 2016, at her home in Brown County.

Diane was born Sept. 10, 1947, in Portland, Tennessee, to the late Clyde D. and Allene (Keith) Dorris. She married James W. “Bill” Voils Jr. on July 8, 1964, in Beech Grove. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 2013, after 49 loving years of marriage.

Together, Bill and Diane became the owner and operators of Voils Refrigeration in Brown County from 1980 until retirement in 1996. Diane also worked in the customer service department for North Star Telecommunications in Greenwood for six years, retiring in 2012.

Diane enjoyed playing and coaching softball, gardening and canning fruits and vegetables. She loved traveling with her husband and reading, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She will be missed by her two loving daughters, Theresa (Jason) Dawson and Christy (Rob) Pruitt, both of Brown County; seven grandchildren, Robbie Sizemore and Heather (Wendell) Keen, both of Manchester, Kentucky, and Maeghn and Billy Pruitt, Jordan, Jalen and Emma Dawson, all of Brown County; four great-grandchildren, Miley and Jacob Hicks, Ander and Isabella Sizemore, all of Manchester, Kentucky; brother, Jack (Helen) Dorris of Waverly; sisters, Faye Lanpher of Spencer and Sandy (Randy) Pruitt of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde D. and Allene; husband, Bill, one daughter, Jenny Sizemore; and one son, James W. Voils III.

Rex Voils and the Rev. Tim Conboy will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
