VAIL, Colo. — Friends and family are mourning the death of a 39-year-old man who was killed in a skiing accident at Beaver Creek Resort.

The Vail Daily reports ( ) Sam Beall, of Knoxville, Tennessee, was pronounced dead at a hospital after the accident on an intermediate run Thursday. Details of the accident have not been released.

Beall owned Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee, a luxury hotel and event destination in the Great Smoky Mountains. He is survived by his wife and their five children.

Blackberry Farm released a statement saying many who knew Beall were touched by his friendship, hospitality and adventurous spirit.
