Brown County High School is hosting the Indiana High School Athletic Association’s boys basketball sectional tournament next week, which will mean more visitors than usual in downtown Nashville.

Tournament games will take place at 6 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 and Friday, March 4. The championship game will be played at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5. Spectators can arrive an hour before game time.

The Brown County Eagles’ first sectional game will come in Game 4 Friday night at 7:30.

Town and school officials are expecting hundreds of cars. Visitors will use school lots, but will spill over onto town lots and streets.

Town Manager/Economic Development Director Scott Rudd encouraged residents to help tournament visitors feel welcome, as the town and school district would like to host more of these events which have an impact on the Brown County economy.

The National Maple Syrup Festival is also happening in Brown County Saturday, March 5, but those events — mostly in the state park — will wrap up at about 5 p.m.
