Irma Jean (Mosley) Morgan, 78, of Nashville, passed away peacefully Friday evening, Feb. 19, 2016, at her home.

She was born in Mozelle, Kentucky, April 6, 1937, to the late Chester and Rebecca (Muncie) Mosley. Irma Jean graduated from Beech Fork School and Red Bird Missionary School, both in Kentucky. She married Lee Edward Morgan Oct. 8, 1955, in Jonesville, Virginia. He preceded her in death Jan. 5, 2007, after 51 loving years of marriage. Together they owned and operated Morgan Saw Mill and Morgan Land Company in Brown County.

Irma Jean is survived by her children, Danny L. (Star) Morgan, Dianna Haines, Chester (Lori) Morgan and Steve R. (Kim) Morgan, all of Nashville; stepson, Darrel Napier of East Bernstadt, Kentucky; siblings, Odell Mosley, Evelyn Mosley, Paul (Debbie) Mosley all of Mozelle, Kentucky, Cornelius “Nick” (Carol) Mosley of Nashville, Hobert (Priscilla) Mosley and Donnie (Karen) Mosley, both of Lexington, Kentucky, Shryl (Gary) Asher and Carolyn Morgan of Hoskins, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Marilyn Wilson and Della Morgan; and a great-grandson, Oakley Morgan.

Irma Jean was a 40-year member of Bean Blossom Baptist Church in Brown County. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, vacationing in Florida and fishing. She was known for her cooking and baking, especially her cornbread and banana pudding. Irma Jean will be remembered for her strong convictions in both her faith in God and her love for family.

The Rev. James Brown was to conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Bean Blossom Baptist Church, 5858 Spearsville Road. Visitation was Feb. 22 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center and prior to the service at the church. Burial was to be in Hamblen-Taggart Cemetery in Brown County.
