Louis S. Tucker, 76, a Brown County resident since 1990, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at his home on Woodland Lake.

Born Feb. 28, 1939, in Hammond, Louis was son of the late John and Wanita (Nunn) Tucker. A 1957 graduate of Dyer High School in Dyer, he married Bonnie B. Thomas March 22, 1960, in Hammond. She survives after 55 loving years of marriage.

Louis retired in 1989 from Calumet Steel Mill after 30 years of service. He worked for the Brown County school corporation from 2000 to 2004 and had a lawn-care service for several years. A member of Samaria Christian Church, he loved fishing and enjoyed being there for everyone, helping others with anything they needed. He was an fan of the Indianapolis Colts, former quarterback Peyton Manning being his favorite player.

Louis is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son, Craig Tucker of Berkeley, California; sisters, Shirley (Ted) Chapman of St. John, and Janet Hoffman and Linda (Nick) Budack, both of Schererville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Wanita; son, Alan L. Tucker; sister, Sandra Watt; and a nephew, Jeff Watt.

Louis’ wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Cremation services were entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
