Brown County Junior High School eighth-grader Chloee Robison finished in the top four at the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee Saturday.

This was Robison’s fifth year competing at the IU bee, a preliminary to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. Last year, Robison won the regional and represented Brown, Greene, Monroe, Morgan and Owen counties in the nation’s capital. She made it through two rounds before being eliminated on “bergschrund.”

This year’s regional winner was Tri-North Middle School seventh-grader Tara Ganguly of Monroe County; last year, Ganguly was runner-up to Robison.

Other Brown County spellers at the regional were Alyson Pennington from Brown County Intermediate School, Nathan Crenshaw from Sprunica Elementary and Amelia Shirley from Van Buren Elementary.
