Robert David Casey, 72, of Columbus, passed from this life at 3:50 a.m. Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, at his home.

Born in Chapmanville, West Virginia, Sept. 4, 1943, Mr. Casey was the son of Frank and Nelle Crutchfield Casey. He married Conetta J. Workman on June 8, 1962.

Mr. Casey was a minister for 35 years and served churches in the area, including Becks Grove Christian Church. He also was an accountant.

He was a member of Ogilville Christian Church in Columbus, where he served as the minister of outreach.

He was the former girls basketball and softball coach at Brown County High School.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Conetta J. Casey; daughters, Debra (Sean) Miller of Champaign, Illinois, Drema (Martin) Wright of Columbus and Denise (Erik) Lindley of Snow Camp, North Carolina; grandchildren, Miriam Miller, Casey (Carly) Wright, Caleb Wright, Elijah Wright, Wayna Howard, Evelyn Lindley, Ember Lindley and Eden Lindley; and a sister, Ruth Conley of West Virginia.

Mr. Casey was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

The funeral was conducted Dec. 29 at Ogilville Christian Church in Columbus with his son-in-law, Martin E. Wright, officiating. Family and friends called Dec. 28 and prior to the service Dec. 29, and a worship service was conducted Dec. 28 at the church. Burial was at New Bellsville Cemetery in Brown County.
