Joyce Adele Baker, 86, of Nashville, went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Brown County Health & Living Community.
Born Oct. 15, 1929, in Chicago, Joyce was the daughter of Lester F. Baker and Madge (McClary) Baker; they preceded her in death.
Joyce was self-employed as a caregiver. She enjoyed being a member of the Brown County Pioneer Women, Brown County Historical Society, Nashville United Methodist Women, Nashville United Methodist Church, and the Upper Room Sunday school class. Joyce was an accomplished artist who worked with oil, acrylic and watercolors, as well as sewing and needlepoint. Sketching and building puzzles were her passionate pastime activities. Joyce was a humble and sweet person with lots of friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19 at Nashville United Methodist Church, 33 S. Jefferson St. The Revs. Mary Cartwright and Fred Haywood will officiate. The family will receive visitors from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
