Dennis “Doc” Kurtz, 73, Nashville, died peacefully early Thursday morning, Nov. 12, 2015, at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

Doc was born Apr. 27, 1942, in Muncie to Ernestine R. Biddle Robertson and George Curts.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Stephens; sister, Cynthia (John) Curts; half-sister, Randi (Adam) Robertson; nephews, David (Kellie) Pumphrey and Jon Pumphrey; and niece, Kate Pumphrey Quintero. He was a loving and fun stepfather to Sarah (Kevin) O’Brien and Susie (Will) White; and stepgrandfather to Brendan, Fiona and Jack O’Brien, Lulu and Roxy White.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and younger brother, Tim.

Doc made Nashville his home in 1974 when he first brought Olde Time Photography to town, then located next to the Hobnob. He will be remembered for his wit, endless curiosity and love of people.

A celebration of his life will take place at a later time.
