Anonymous members of a no-name committee have been providing clothes to the children of Brown County for the past 35 years, and the tradition will continue Friday, Dec. 5, at Out of the Ordinary restaurant.

The 37th Brown County Children’s Christmas Fund Auction is an annual event, and all proceeds from the auction will go toward $25 gift cards from Old Navy, an anonymous representative of the committee said.

People who attend the family event can bid on items from local merchants as well as donate money at the door. Food and a full bar will be available throughout the evening for purchase.

Merchants who would like to donate items for the auction can do so by dropping off items at PNC Bank and Out of the Ordinary.

The proceeds from last year’s auction went toward giving gift cards to more than 525 children younger than 16 in the county. Parents who want their children to receive gift cards can do so by registering with their child’s school. The gift cards will be distributed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the Brown County YMCA.

The event is free to the public. Doors open at 5 p.m., with the auction starting at 6 p.m. The auction will go until the last items are sold, the spokesperson said.
